Hetalia fanfic snippet

So I haven't been writing a whole lot recently. I have done a little, but not much.

I finally broke down and decided to do a short Hetalia oneshot. After hearing about the earthquake in Haiti, I really couldn't help the plotbunnies that invaded my head. So I started writing... but I'm kind of stuck. I love what I have so far, but I don't really know where I'm going with it. I have no end in mind, really.

Probably what will happen is Haiti (an OC, since there is no Haiti character in Hetalia yet) will probably walk around the devastation and there will be much angst before America and a few other countries come with aid. I haven't decided whether I wanted him to be hurt or not.

Here's a snippet:

.~.~.~.~.

He didn’t know what was happening.

It all started with a small twitch in his left hand. He thought it was nothing—just a small muscle spasm. Maybe he’d been working too hard, and his nerves were just protesting a little. He moved his fingers around, hoping that would quell it, and continued walking down the halls of the National Palace. His boss had called him down to the living quarters to discuss something with him, and he couldn’t be late.

But then the spasm didn’t stop. It soon traveled to his other fingers and up his arm, the entire limb shaking violently. He clutched it to his side in a panic, eyes darting around wildly. Something wasn’t right, what was going on?

Without warning the ground beneath his feet heaved, and he was suddenly blasted with a jolt of pain that traveled like a lightning bolt through his body. At that moment, he heard the screams of his people. Thousands upon thousands screaming, hurting, crying, dying as the earth beneath them quaked and the roofs above them cracked and fell. He felt their pain, their confusion; their tears ran down his cheeks. The grand white walls of the Palace creaked around him as his knees gave out, the screams and throbbing pain drowning out the sounds of the Palace falling apart around him. He was bumped and jostled as people panicked around him, and the last thing he saw before the world went black was the sky, where a sky should not have been.

That's pretty much where I am now with it, minus a paragraph or two that I don't like much and will probably delete.

I've FINALLY gotten an idea that I like for the Rune Haven fanfiction contest. 8D I'm going to brainstorm on it more before trying to write it this weekend while I'm at my dad's. It's not like I have anything better to do (besides homework) there, lol. :P I'll be busy all week with school, so this is my best chance to write it (other than next weekend, but that's cutting it a little close to the deadline, I think). It is, of course, yaoi. Max/Ray, specifically. That pairing srsly needs some love, I'm the ONLY person to have written for them, even though I KNOW that there are other people who support it too. Oh well. 8D

I missed The Village Square's contest again. I just didn't like the theme. Education/Learning... while certainly do-able, I just didn't get the inspiration I needed to do it. Voting ends on the 27th; I'll probably just read the entries while I'm procrastinating during the week and vote then.

...That's all I have to say about my writerly endeavors as of late, so bye bye for now~
